"The same decision it takes to release 1 pound, is the same decision it takes to release 400 pounds, start somewhere.” - Coach Kenya Elliott
Not everyone is aware of the best ways to lose weight, some are unaware of why they are overweight in the first place, some think they can simply physically force themselves to start losing weight, and others believe that dieting is not healthy. It is a widespread belief that you either have to restrict your calories and only do cardio, or you have to have a strict workout routine and take supplements – but that's just not true. Weight loss stalls for lots of varied reasons. Here I'll list five common reasons why your weight loss may be stuck in the mud.👇
1. You aren't eating enough calories and/or your hormones may be out of whack. 🚫
2. You've stopped making healthy choices 🥗
3. You need more protein added to your daily intake 👩🏻🤝👩🏿
4. You don’t have any support and haven’t been tracking your progress. 📘
5. You don't have a workout plan and do too much cardio.🏋️💪🏾
Most people who lose a lot of weight will gain it back. The sad truth is that half of all successful dieters end up heavier than they were when they started out, regardless of how much willpower and determination those individuals may have had earlier on in their weight-loss journey. The reality of weight release and long-term results lies in much more than just eating less.
If you hit a weight loss plateau and want to shake things up again, try something new. Your body won't just magically give in to your efforts, even if you've been working out at the gym and eating properly for months on end. You need to change things up – a lot – in order to see results, especially if you're reaching a top weight loss plateau point.
It's okay to look for other ways to be active and new foods to try. Remember this is a journey.
